Member deformations-controlled in Strength Degradation? Empty Member deformations-controlled in Strength Degradation?

Post  AdekAjeng Tue Mar 16, 2010 3:51 pm

Dear all,

I would like to use Giberson Beam & beam-column elements for nonlinear analysis of RC frame based on deformation-controlled analysis.

1a) how to specify member deformation limits (e.g. yield & ultimate rotations) ??
1b) is it through ILOS of Strength Degradation ?
1c) if yes, how to distinguish deformations limit for local z- & y-axis, as well as for end-i and -j ?

Your help is highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Hi all,

what I am tried to say is how to make the element deformation is controllable as required in performance-based analysis by taking into account the strength and rotation after yield. For example, the following moment-rotation envelope data:

My - ry
Mmax - rmax
Mu - ru
M - r at collapse state

Thanks a lot
